Thousands Jump Into the Prescott TEA POT

Dispite bone chilling winds and low temperatures, tax protestors numbering approximately 2,500 people crowded the Prescott Courthouse area as a part of the national “Tea Party” movement on April 15, 2009.
With placards in hand, the crowd let it be known that many citizens are not happy with the way Washington D.C. is increasing taxes and spending. Local citizens, attorneys and politicians were on hand for the event.
From appearances, the crowd was made up of a cross spectrum of political persuasions, age groups and genders who sang songs, signed petitions and listened to local speakers address the current tax and spend programs coming out of Washington.
